Welcome to the third edition of ‘Sixty Seconds in Touch’.
This edition we announce details of the Blues Dinner and State Conference, find out some breaking news from Penrith and Parramatta touch football associations, and list what’s happening in each of our regions as we creep closer to the middle of the year.
New South Wales Touch Association is pleased to announce that the Blues Dinner will be held on the 16th October at Bankstown Sports Club in the Grand Ball Room, Greenfield Parade Bankstown. The NSWTA Blues Dinner is to recognise those with individuals who have achieved not only excellence but have also provided outstanding service to the sport of Touch Football in NSW each year. The celebration of this evening recognises all manner of persons, those at a variety of levels from the local park through to national and international achievements. Importantly it is essential that the NSW Touch Association, through the Blues Dinner, provide the opportunity for volunteer recognition. Part of the process which is key to the recognition of these people is that of their peers needing to nominate them. The nomination can be completed by any member of the NSWTA/Region/Club-park player through to committee member and so on, to nominate a member from NSWTA or any other club or regions please complete the Blues Awards Nomination Booklet. To attend and reserve your place please view the Blues Dinner Ticket Request Form, ticket requests close on Friday September 24 from the affordable price of $60.00 per person.
New South Wales Touch Association is pleased to announce that the 2010 State Conference will be held on the 16th & 17th October at Bankstown Sports Club, Greenfield Parade Bankstown. The focus of this year’s is conference is “Volunteerism, Recognise, Reward and Retain”. After 32 years of involvement in touch football, John Howard has retired from his position of President, at Penrith Touch Association. John played an integral part in the formation of Penrith Touch back in 1978, and since its establishment has put in the hard yards to help get the association to where it is in today’s game. John was involved in the first rep teams from Penrith in 1979, and over the years has been involved in almost all areas of the sport. Well known across the country, Howard is a current life member of Penrith TA and NSW Touch Football Association.
